Figuring stuff out, publicly.

What is the point of all of this?

Am I someone with a multitude of credentials, professional acholades, multiple streams of passive incomes, a peak physical performer, and an all-round-heightened-conscious-better-than-you being?

Yes. Absolutely not.

Then why would I think about sharing my thoughts, when there are a plethora of experts behind me who have far greater authority?

Because there might be something I have that the ultra-successful have lost: I am a complete, unequivocal, incontrovertible, novice.

So often, I, and the rest of society, pour over the lives of the uber-successful, the immensely wealthy, the elite athelets, the Ghandi's of this world, seeking to follow in their footsteps. And this is smart: who else to learn from than those who are the very best?

Except, in having reached the pinnacle of their areas, the successful might lose more of their ability to relate to the ordinary person; to relate to those who are at the very beginning of their path, like you and me. It's been so long since they were a beginner, that it's hard to remember what the beginning is like. What CS Lewis calls

"The Curse of Knowledge."

In being a non-expert exploring this world, I might have a perspective that the fellow average person could relate to. I plan to share my failures (which will be many), my wins (which will be far and few), my processes of work, and what is helping me learn about Life. With this, I feel I could add some small, even microscopic, value to a few people's lives who are also trying to figure out life as a beginner.

How?

Perhaps I could help you avoid the mistakes I've made; perhaps I can save you some time that I wasted; some of the advice I found useful might become useful to you; perhaps your life could be made easier by me sharing the ways I overcomplicate mine. Perhaps we can help each other in our way to expertise.

Simply, I plan to share what I am learning about life in the hope that it might help other people live better too. By doing this publicly, perhaps you can help me better articulate these thoughts so we can learn better, together.

I am immensely grateful you have had the patience to read this far into the mind of someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

Welcome to my blog. I hope you find something useful.

P.S. if you made it all the way to the end here, perhaps it wouldn't be too painfu to hear more from me? Okay, maybe a step too far... If not, try subscribing to the email newsletter (at the bottom right), where I'll let you know when I write some new nonsense.
